Christopher Ellis brings a wealth of experience to Partners Retirement and Wealth Management, joining us from Wedbush Securities, where he spearheaded the creation and operations of a Community Banking Program. Before that, he served as a financial advisor for the Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union for eight years, honing his expertise in helping to guide clients toward financial success.
Chris’s educational journey began at Pepperdine University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. During his time at Pepperdine University, Chris was deeply involved with their men’s basketball programs, working as a student manager and eventually as a Graduate Assistant Coach. His passion for coaching extended beyond college, leading to a stint as a high school basketball coach and then as an Assistant Coach for UC Irvine Women’s Basketball from 2005 to 2008.
In 2008, Chris transitioned into a management role with a Fortune 100 company, where he found fulfillment presenting the company’s 401(k) plan to employees. Witnessing the financial challenges faced by friends, family, and coworkers during the Great Recession inspired Chris to shift his career toward financial services. In 2013, he became a licensed financial advisor, initially working as an independent advisor for three years before joining the credit union sector.
When Chris joined Partners Retirement and Wealth Management, he was eager to return to the credit union environment, drawn by the organization’s mission of empowering Members through education and strong client relationships. This alignment with his values made Partners Retirement and Wealth Management the perfect fit for him and his family. Chris resides in San Gabriel with his wife and two children. Outside of work, he remains passionate about education, teamwork, and fostering connections that help others achieve their goals.
